Don't Lose Any Backgammon Chips!

Defined Tag:

Backgammon is a wonderful game and, unlike many games that have evolved in recent years, backgammon remains a game that provides wholesome fun for the entire family. (Well, provided that the family members aren’t playing the game for money. Imbibing the art of gambling is not the best family pastime!) When one considers that a fun evening of playing backgammon is a great way to spend time with the family, it goes without saying that a great deal of the fun that goes into backgammon would be diminished if the backgammon chips repeatedly got lost.

Unfortunately, it seems that the chances of you losing the backgammon chips is quite high. This is because the backgammon chips can be easily misplaced due to their small size. Players usually have the tendency to lose one or more of the chips while if the game is played in an open space. In this case, looking for the missing chip is like finding a needle in a haystack if you accidentally lose it.

Now, there are some creative people who will replace lost backgammon chips with nearby objects. While playing backgammon with one of the chips replaced by a saltshaker can be done without impact the way the game is played, it would look incredibly silly. This is to say nothing of how ludicrous a backgammon game who look if half the backgammon chips were replaced by all sorts of illogical (and silly) replacements. So, the moral of the story is that a true backgammon fan will take proper game of their game set and not lose any backgammon chips.

When it comes to taking proper care of a backgammon game set there are not steps that need to be taken that are too difficult to perform. Investing a bit of time to make sure that the game is properly packed up and put away when playtime is over will ensure that no chips are errantly lost.

The best advice that can be offered to make sure backgammon chips are not misplaced would be that after the game is over to scan the perimeter of the area one occupied when playing. Look out for any backgammon chips that may have fallen off the table, etc and place them back in their proper storage spot in the board. Little things like this will keep the game in one piece and eliminate the need for saltshakers.

If you really cannot stand the sight of having a silly object substituting your missing chips, you can choose to purchase a new set of chips to replace them. It should not be too difficult to find them in the games section of the departmental stores. However, those that are available may not be an exact replacement or match the existing backgammon board that you already have. Hence, the best way is still to prevent losing any of your backgammon chips!
